Tom Timmeman has been working on e-solutions for over 14 years, starting with the roll-out of the first e-rfx at Procter & Gamble, and exploring the use of a number of other technologies. Next he has implemented and rolled-out the entire e-sourcing approach at Inbev, taking the company from a non-user to a situation where e-sourcing has been fundamental within the company, and was even used structurally through a number of global spend categories. Tom views on e-sourcing is that the tool is an enabler of the buyer, and that the real power comes from smart strategies combined with superior functionality and user friendliness.
